The Search for the George Washington University’s Next Provost
The George Washington University has announced the formation of a Provost Search Committee to facilitate the selection of GW’s next Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs. The Provost oversees all academic matters—teaching, learning, research and scholarship—across GW's ten schools and colleges. Also included in the Provost's purview are issues of student life on campus, international programs, graduate enrollment and institutional assessment.
The search committee—comprised of 14 faculty members representing all 10 of the George Washington University’s schools and a range of disciplines, two trustees, a student leader and an administrator—will lead the nationwide search. AGB Search, a national executive placement firm that specializes in higher education, will assist and support the committee.
Professor of Chemistry and International Affairs Christopher Cahill will serve as chair of the search committee.
This website will provide you with information about the search process and provide updates as the search progresses. In addition, the website gives the larger GW community an opportunity to provide the committee with its feedback and input. We welcome and encourage your engagement in this process.
